tsukimi moon viewing dango Tsukimi means moon viewing in Japanese, and it usually indicates the custom of moon viewing held in mid-autumn. Actually, tsukimi is held on August 15th in the lunar calendar, and it falls on September 14th this year. The moon on this day is said to be the brightest and the most beautiful in the year.
