Japanese Toddler Food Recipes?
Friday January 9, 2009
Do you know any Japanese-style toddler recipe? There is a couple who want to cook Japanese-style food for their kid. "I would like to know what to make for our 2 year old daughter for lunch and dinner each day. We would like to keep her on a Japanese style diet with no meat but unfortunately, almost everything Japanese contains MSG. So even buying Japanese groceries is proving to be difficult. What can you suggest that is healthy and preferably not fried?"

I have a 12 month old and I just made a pot of light soy/dashi tofu simmered in a 4C bonito dashi, 3T soy sauce, 1T mirin, with a block of custard tofu simmered til the inside is warm and delicious (approx. 30min on low heat). My boy loved the texture. I also added some rough chopped mizuna and bamboo shoots simmered in the same pot.
