Tsukimi means moon viewing in Japanese, and it usually indicates the custom of moon viewing held in mid-autumn. Actually, tsukimi is held on August 15th in the lunar calendar, and it falls on October 3 this year. The moon on this day is said to be the brightest and the most beautiful in the year.
