This is a simple way to make okaki (rice crackers) by deep-frying dried mochi.
Ingredients:
- 4 small blocks mochi (rice cake)
- oil for frying
- salt and peppers to season
Preparation:
Thinly slice mochi into small pieces. Spread mochi slices on a flat tray. Dry them in a cool and dry place for a few days or until
completely dried. Heat oil for deep-frying to about 340 degree F and deep-fry mochi slices until browned. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle some salt
and pepper over.
