Edamame are green soy beans. Boiled edamame is an easy-to-make appetizer. Japanese people eat boiled and salted edamame with beer. Serve cold beer with chilled edamame on a hot day.

How to Make Edamame Appetizer

Beer has been one of the most popular alcohol beverages in Japan since it was introduced to the Japanese public at the end of the 19th century.

Common Japanese Beer:

  • Kirin
  • Asahi
  • Sapporo
  • Suntory

    Japanese beer companies also produce happo-shu, which is sparkling and low malt beverage. Since the tax for happoshu is much less than the tax for beer, happoshu is cheaper than beer. For the reason, happoshu has become so popular in Japan.
