Definition: Salted salmon are widely consumed in Japan and called shiozake or shiojake. There are mainly two types of salmon available in Japan: shiozake and namazake (unseasoned raw salmon). Slices of shiozake are sold in Japanese grocery stores. Commonly, shiozake are grilled/broiled and served at breakfast or put in bento lunch boxes.
