Sake Steamed Mushrooms

Various Japanese mushrooms are steamed in sake rice wine.

Ingredients:

  • 8 fresh shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 pack enoki mushroom
  • 1 pack shimeji mushroom
  • 2 tbsps sake rice wine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soy sauce

Preparation:

Cut the bottom of enoki mushrooms and shimeji and cut into 2-inch-lengths. Remove stems from shiitake mushrooms. Cut shiitake mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. Put mushrooms in a pan and pour sake and salt over mushrooms. Put a lid over the pan and place the pan over high heat. Steam mushrooms for a few minutes and stop the heat. <br> *makes 2 servings
