Buta-no-Shogayaki

Pork slices are marinated in ginger-flavored sauce and stir-fried.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound thinly sliced pork, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp mirin
  • 1 Tbsp sake
  • shredded cabbage

Preparation:

  1. Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and grated ginger in a bowl.
  2. Marinate pork for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat some oil in a frying pan.
  4. Stir-fry the pork slices on medium heat until cooked through.
  5. Serve ginger pork with shredded cabbage.

Before marinating the pork, reserve some of the marinade and pour it over the cabbage. Makes the cabbage more like a salad.
