Japanese Pork Recipes
Japanese Teriyaki
Ingredients:
- 3/4 lb thinly sliced pork loins
- 12-16 okra, washed
- 2 Tbsp sake
- 2 Tbsp mirin
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- *flour for coating
Preparation:
Put water in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Add okra and boil for about one minute. Cool okra in cold water. Drain well, and cut off the tips and stems. Place one okura horizontally on top of a pork slice. Roll up the meat. Repeat the process to make more pork rolls. Lightly coat pork rolls with flour. Heat oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Fry pork rolls until brown. Pour sake and cover the skillet. Steam for a couple minutes on low heat. Mix soy sauce and mirin in a cup. Remove the lid and pour the mixture over pork rolls. Stop the heat.*makes 4 servings
