Glaze-grilled unagi (unagi-no-kabayaki) are often available in vacuum-sealed packages at Asian grocery stores. To use it, first defrost the unagi package in the refrigerator. It might take 5-6 hours.

If there are no instructions on the unagi package, here are some ways to heat up defrosted unagi.

Using Skillet:
Take unagi out of the package and cut it into halves lengthwise if they are long. Place unagi the skin side down on a large skillet. Pour 1 Tbsp of sake rice wine over unagi. Cover the skillet with a lid and steam cook for a couple minutes on low heat.

Using Microwave:
Take unagi out of the package, and place it on a microwavable plate and pour 1 Tbsp of sake rice wine over. Cover with plastic wrap. Miscrowave on high for about one minute.

Using Pan:
Boil water in a large pan, and place the defrosted unagi package in the pan for about three minutes.

Using Broiler:
Line a broiler pan with aluminium foil. Take unagi out of the package and place it on the foil. Broil unagi the skin side first for a few minutes, turn over and broil the other side for a few minutes.
