This is a simple appetizer made with shiso (perilla) leaves and cheese as the filling.
- 20 wonton wrappers
- 20 small cubes process cheese
- 10 shiso (perilla) leaves, cut in halves
- Vegetable oil for frying
Place a piece of shiso and a cube of cheese in the center of a wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton wrapper in half diagonally, shaping into a triangle. Seal the edges of the wrapper by putting a little bit of water. Heat oil to 375 degrees F and deep-fry the wonton until brown.
