This burger is made with tofu and chicken. Serve it with grated daikon radishes and sweet sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb cotton tofu (firm tofu)
- 3/4 lb boneless and skinless chicken breast, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumb
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
- salt and pepper to season
- vegetable oil to frying
- For sauce:
- 4 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp mirin
- 2 Tbsp water
- For topping:
- grated daikon radish
Preparation:
Wrap tofu with paper towels and place it on a flat tray. Put a cutting board or a flat plate on top
the tofu and let sit for about 15 minutes.
Put egg, panko, tofu, chicken, ginger, and green onion in a large bowl and mix well. Season with
salt and pepper. Make four large oval-shaped patties.
Heat some oil in a large skillet. Fry the patties on medium-high heat until lightly browned. Turn
them over and cover the skillet with a lid.
Cook on low heat for a few minutes, or until cooked through.
Serve burgers into plates. Heat water, soy sauce, and mirin in the skillet and bring to a boil. Top
burgers with grated daikon radish and pour the sauce over.
