This recipe uses tofu instead of pizza crust. If you like tofu, try making tofu pizza. It's soft, so please do not try to eat with your hands.
Ingredients:
- 1 cotton tofu
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 4 Tbsp pizza sauce
- 1/4 lb shredded mozzarella cheese
- *flour for coating
- *vegetable oil for frying
- *salt and pepper for seasoning
Preparation:
Drain tofu. Meanwhile, heat some oil in a small skillet and saute onion and green bell pepper until softened. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside. Cut tofu into about 1/3 inch slices and coat with flour. Heat some vegetable oil in a large skillet. Fry tofu until lightly browned on both side. Season tofu with salt and pepper. Stop the heat. Spread pizza sauce on the tofu. Place sauteed onion and green bell pepper on the sauce. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover the skillet and cook on medium heat until cheese melts. Serve on plates.*Makes 2 servings
