It's a quick asparagus stir fry recipe cooked in Japanese kinpira-style.

Japanese Vegetable Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 fresh asparagus
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp mirin
  • 2 tsp white sesame seeds

Preparation:

Peel the bottom part of asparagus using a peeler. Diagonally slice them into thin pieces. Mix soy sauce, sugar, and mirin in a small cup and set aside. Heat sesame oil in a skillet. Stir-fry asparagus slices on high heat for about one minute. Pour mixed seasonings over asparagus and stir-fry quickly until the liquid is gone. Stop the heat. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the asparagus.
