Harumi KuriharaMy Review
My favorite Japanese cookbook is Harumi's Japanese Cooking. I received it as a gift from my cousin in Japan. This has contemporary authentic Japanese home cooking. The recipes are delicious and easy to make with common ingredients. Of course, there are things you'll have to get in an Asian grocery store, especially, if you live in a small town like I do. The book has beautiful photos of the finished product and the steps to create them. The glossary is nice too.
One of my favorite recipes is the Chinese Style Dumplings(gyoza). Her twist on it, actually, is easier to make. Another favorite is the sushi section of the cookbook. She shows how varied sushi can be, with many toppings and fillings, again, all beautifully photographed.
You can tell by looking at my cookbook, how much I have used it. I hope it will last long enough for my daughter and future grand-daughter(?) to enjoy.
